WoW soloing / raid bosses

WoW raid soloing against the unanswered fights.

When this site says WoW soloing, it means one player working out how to defeat raid bosses without a raid group. There is often no guide, no accepted route and nobody who can tell me whether the fight is possible. That is exactly why I love it.

These are my four greatest solos, in the order I rank them. Every result links to the complete fight on my YouTube channel.

I made the enrage safer than the mechanic.

The most complex solo I had attempted in 19 years of playing WoW: a Protection Paladin route built around block, exact transitions and surviving a ten-minute wait.

  • Staying on a flying mount stopped Tindral teleporting me to his platform, so I could hold the one he had just left.
  • That forced the enrage, and the enrage locked him into a permanent Supernova cast.
  • From there it was a ten-minute wait for the flaming trees to despawn before I could reach him.
  • I rebuilt away from the usual Haste setup and pushed block as close to 100% as the setup allowed, because each block prevents a larger percentage of damage against a lower-level target—that is what let me out-heal otherwise lethal damage.

The all-time list / ranks two to four

Three more fights that changed what I thought was possible.

Mythic Fyrakk, The Lich King at level 30 and Mythic Jailer at level 60. Each one needed a different class and a different answer.

  1. Rank 2 / 1,900 attemptsWorld-first Mythic Fyrakk solo

This was the one that nearly broke me: 1,900 attempts across a year and two months, then a pre-nerf world-first kill after racing a fresh Hunter to level 90.

    • The wall was the start of phase two: heal the Spirits of the Kaldorei and clear the line of adds, all inside five seconds.
    • Levelling a Hunter to 90 gave me enough damage to burn Fyrakk down in the thirty seconds before he flew off, so I never had to solve that window at all.
  2. Rank 3 / Level 30World-first level 30 Monk solo of The Lich King

A level-30 Brewmaster taking Legacy Thirty's raid finale and solving it alone by finding two minutes that the original damage plan was missing.

    • The first breakthrough was surviving all the way to enrage; the remaining problem was damage.
    • Normal mode's lighter intermission damage created roughly one extra minute in each intermission.
  3. Rank 4 / 400+ Druid wipesWorld-first level 60 Druid solo of Mythic Jailer

My hardest low-level solo: more than four months of work, over 400 wipes on the Guardian Druid alone and repeated rebuilds across every tank.

    • I levelled and tested every tank because I would not assume the Druid was automatically the answer.
    • Gearing the project and testing the alternatives took hundreds of hours.

One player. No guide. Keep pulling.

Why I keep doing this

I want the pull where nobody knows the answer yet.

A difficult solo strips away every safety net. Nobody else can cover the mechanic, fix the timing or save the attempt. The boss becomes a puzzle about survival, movement, gearing and the parts of the game most players never need to question.

I do not want to follow somebody else's script. I want to step into the unknown, learn what every wipe is saying and make a route that did not exist before.

What the finished video does not show

The kill is one pull. The work is everything before it.

Patience matters, but not as blind repetition. Each attempt has to earn the next one.

No map

Start without a guide.

Decide what to test, what to ignore and whether a route exists at all.

Read the wipe

Turn failure into information.

Damage patterns, targeting rules, transitions and enrages stop being noise when every pull has a question.

Stay

Keep looking for the useful question.

Fyrakk took 1,900 attempts. I kept going because the next test could still reveal the answer.

Locked at a level, and still going in alone.

A level-locked character never outgrows the content, so these fights stay hard permanently. Each level has its own page.
