Method / how the characters get made
Gear it once at max level. Never farm it again.
Most people build a twink by grinding the bracket it will live in. I do the opposite: a character earns its gear at max level, in current content, and only then gets locked. It arrives in the bracket already finished.
This is the loop behind every solo on this site. It is not a shortcut around the work; it moves the work to where the rewards are richest.
The loop
Four steps that repeat every expansion.
Each pass leaves behind one finished twink and one new max-level main.
- 01
Gear to best-in-slot at max level
Through seasons 1, 2 and 3 of the current expansion, a character takes the highest gear the game is handing out. This is the part everyone already does — the difference is what happens next.
- 02
Lock it when the expansion ends
At the expansion boundary that character stops earning experience. It keeps everything it collected, at a level where nothing in the bracket can compete with what current-season content awarded.
- 03
Farm nothing
The twink starts complete. There is no gearing phase, no grinding the bracket for upgrades that are worse than what it already has. It is ready to attempt things on the day it is locked.
- 04
Level a new character for the new endgame
A fresh character takes over max level for the next expansion, and the loop starts again. Nothing is abandoned and nothing is wasted: last expansion’s main becomes this expansion’s twink.
Why it works
Current-season gear outclasses anything the bracket can farm.
A locked character is judged against the content of its own level, not against the expansion it earned its gear in. Bringing max-level gear down into a bracket is the single largest power difference available, and it is only available in one direction: you can gear first and lock afterwards, never the other way round.
That is why the timing matters more than the grinding. Miss the window and the same character has to earn a far weaker set the slow way, inside the bracket.
Where it leads
Every bracket record on this site came out of this loop.
The level 30 to 80 solos are what these characters go on to do once they are locked and finished. The bracket pages list every one.
